Uraninite on Granite Matrix (Czech)
A genuine uraninite-bearing mineral specimen from the Czech Republic hosted within a natural pink granite matrix. The specimen displays attractive dark metallic-black uraninite mineralisation occurring along natural fractures and bands within the host rock, creating a striking contrast against the lighter feldspar and quartz-rich matrix.
The uraninite exhibits a natural lustrous appearance, particularly along the exposed edge of the specimen, where the uranium mineralisation forms concentrated zones of high visual interest such as microscopic bubbles of botryoidal. The combination of dark uranium-bearing material and coarse-grained granitic host rock highlights the geological processes responsible for uranium deposition within historic Czech uranium mining districts.
Despite its compact size, the specimen presents excellent mineralogical character and serves as an appealing example of naturally occurring uranium mineralisation. Its contrasting colours, visible uranium-bearing zones, and classic granitic host make it an excellent addition to any collection of radioactive minerals, uranium ores, or historic mining specimens.
The specimen measures approximately 22 × 20 × 4 mm and is supplied in a protective acrylic display box, ready for display, storage, or collection.
